About the Hartville Lions Club • The Hartville Lions Club has been active since 1946. It is a group of about thirty-five dedicated men and women who serve their community and the world, while having a lot of fun in the process. The members are of all ages and come from all walks of life -- blue-collar, white-collar, professionals, farmers, homemakers, business people, and others. • Meetings are at 6:30 PM, on the second and fourth Mondays of the month, usually at the Hartville Kitchen Restaurant, 1015 Edison St. N.W., Hartville, Ohio.
Charities Serving Hartville and Surrounding Communities Eyeglass and sight programs, both locally and through Lions International. Much of the advancement for research on eye surgery and cataract surgery has been funded by Lions International. Collecting used eyeglasses to be redistributed throughout the world. Glasses are cleaned and processed by the Uniontown Club and distributed by doctors on trips to depressed areas throughout Europe and Central and South America. Eye screening for the public. Purchasing glasses for those from the Hartville area who can’t afford eye care. College scholarships for Lake High School graduates, co-funded with Uniontown Lions Club. Providing back-to-school supplies for needy students. Sponsoring Christmas gifts and Thanksgiving vouchers for needy families in Lake Township. These gifts are co-coordinated by a group of advisors at Lake Middle School. Sponsorship for many years of the Boy Scout and Cub Scout groups from Hartville. Largest contributor of funds to the Nature-For-All-Trail at Quail Hollow State Park. - Equipment purchased for the Hartville Fire Department and the Stark/Lake Library.
- Most of the money raised locally is spent locally.
| Did You Know? • The Hartville Lions Club purchased the land for and developed the Hartville Memorial Park (see photo above), which they donated to the Village of Hartville. • The Hartville Lions Club secured the property that has been developed into the Lake Township Community Park and Lake High School Stadium and Sports Complex. • The Hartville Lions Club has sponsored scholarships since 1957. • The Hartville Lions Club is always interested in learning of and helping with new needs. • The Hartville Lions Club welcomes new members -- please contact us.
